These terms are the agreement between you and Daniel Ahn (“we”, “us”) for use of the scopeish app. By creating an account, you agree to them. If you do not agree, do not use the app.
1. Who can use it
You must be at least 18 years old to use scopeish. You must not have been previously removed from the app, and you must not be barred from using it under the laws that apply to you.
You may hold one account. Your phone number verifies it.
2. What the app does
scopeish shows your profile to other users who are physically near you, and shows you theirs. Being near another user is what makes you visible to them. There is no approval step and no mutual match required.
Profiles remain visible for approximately 2 hours after you leave an area.
3. Your content
You keep ownership of everything you put in your profile — your photo, your name, your bio, your links.
By posting it, you give us permission to store it and display it to other users of the app, which is the only thing we do with it. That permission ends when you delete the content or your account.
You are responsible for what you post. You confirm that you have the right to post it, that your photo is of you, and that it does not infringe anyone else’s rights.
4. Rules of conduct — zero tolerance
There is zero tolerance for objectionable content or abusive behavior.
Accounts that violate this section are removed, usually without warning.
You may not:
- Harass, threaten, stalk, intimidate, or incite violence against anyone.
- Post sexually explicit content, nudity, or content that sexualizes minors in any way whatsoever.
- Impersonate another person, or use someone else’s photo as your own.
- Post hate speech, or attack people on the basis of race, ethnicity, national origin, religion, disability, sex, gender identity, sexual orientation, or age.
- Use the app to advertise, solicit, scam, phish, or recruit for a business, scheme, or service, except by simply linking your own accounts.
- Post another person’s private information, including their address, phone number, workplace, or anything else that identifies where they are.
- Falsify your location, or use modified software, automation, or any other means to appear somewhere you are not.
- Attempt to identify, follow, contact, or approach another user against their wishes.
- Attempt to break, probe, overload, or gain unauthorized access to the app or its systems, or to access another user’s account or data.
- Use the app for anything illegal.
Reporting. Every profile can be reported from within the app. Reports are reviewed and acted on. Reporting someone can also block them, at your choice.
Blocking. You can block any user at any time. Blocking is immediate and mutual — neither of you can see the other afterwards.
Enforcement. We may remove content, suspend, or permanently terminate an account that violates these terms, or where we reasonably believe it is necessary to protect someone. We may do so without notice. We are not obligated to give a reason, and we may report unlawful conduct to law enforcement.
5. Safety — please read this
scopeish shows you strangers who happen to be near you. That is what it is for, and it carries real risk.
We do not verify anyone. We do not run background checks, identity checks, or criminal record checks on any user. A verified phone number proves someone has a phone number. It proves nothing else. A profile photo may not be of the person, a name may not be their name, and anything in a profile may be untrue.
You are responsible for your own safety. If you choose to meet someone: meet in a public place, tell somebody where you are going, arrange your own transport, and leave whenever you want to. Do not share your home address, your financial information, or anything that would let someone find you later.
Requests for money are a scam. Nobody you meet through a proximity app has a legitimate reason to ask you for money, gift cards, or cryptocurrency. Report them.
If you are in danger, contact your local emergency services first. Then report the profile in the app.
We are not responsible for the conduct of any user, whether online or in person, and we do not act as an intermediary between users.
6. The service itself
We provide the app as it is. We do not promise it will be uninterrupted, error free, accurate about who is nearby, or available in any particular place. Location technology is imprecise, especially indoors, and the app may show someone who has left or miss someone who is present.
We may change, suspend, or discontinue any part of the app at any time.
7. Disclaimers and limits
To the fullest extent permitted by law, the app is provided “as is” and “as available”, without warranties of any kind, express or implied, including merchantability, fitness for a particular purpose, and non-infringement.
To the fullest extent permitted by law, we are not liable for any indirect, incidental, special, consequential, or punitive damages, or for any loss of data, profits, or goodwill, arising from your use of the app or from your interactions with any other user. Our total liability to you for any claim relating to the app will not exceed one hundred US dollars ($100).
Some jurisdictions do not allow certain limitations, in which case the above applies only to the extent permitted.
8. Ending your account
You can delete your account at any time from within the app. We can terminate or suspend your account as described in section 4.
Sections 3 (for content already shared), 5, 7, and 9 survive the end of this agreement.
9. Law and disputes
These terms are governed by the laws of the State of Nevada, without regard to its conflict of law rules. Any dispute will be brought in the state or federal courts located in Clark County, Nevada, and you and we consent to that jurisdiction.
10. Changes
We may update these terms. If a change is material, we will update the date above and notify you in the app. Continuing to use scopeish after a change means you accept it.
